| So today is Colton's 3rd birthday, and this is how HE decided to spend his birthday morning (after I made Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast)
He decided to clean the sink.... I have the funniest little boy. I wonder what his future holds for him?
All I know is he will make his wife very happy some day with how well he can clean (he cleaned the drain, sink mats, stoppers, each sink and the counters surrounding them)!
Happy 3rd Birthday Colton! :) I lob-sa you!

I usually don't care for "forwards" when it comes to e-mails... it's usually some sappy story that usually isn't true (even though it says it really is). But I got this from my mom and I thought it was so funny, I just had to share: How to stay married………….. A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money Totaling $95,000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll."
The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?" "Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling the dolls." The moral of the story - do something constructive with your anger and don't let it consume you! Hey, you never know maybe you can make a ton of money from being constructive with your anger too! :) BUT an even better tool to get rid of your anger - walk in love and TALK to the other person! It may not make you $95,000 (then again - it might) but it sure will make life easier in the long run! :) Have a great day!
| I seem to be saying that phrase over and over a lot lately... in my personal life, at church, at work, and just about everywhere. "God is faithful." Period, end of discussion, no questions asked - just is, He's just faithful. Not... maybe He'll work it out, not "if He's in the mood" - He is faithful. Things don't go always just "the way" that we think they should - but we don't see the big picture (I mean come on, when you were little putting toys in your mouth seemed appealing and what now? Hhhmmm....) but the good news is - He does see the big picture. I LOVE this one verse in Hebrews that the Holy Spirit always seems to bring to me just when I need it most: Hebrews 11:11-12 "By faith, barren Sarah was able to become pregnant, old woman as she was at the time, because she believed the One who made a promise would do what he said. That's how it happened that from one man's dead and shriveled loins there are now people numbering into the millions." Okay, the "shriveled loins" part isn't too appealing - but the part I love is that Sarah "believed the One who made a promise would do what he said". Is it just me - or does our part seem (to us) to be the hard part, don't do anything - just believe. But really, it's the easy part. Just trust in Him - He is faithful. Thank you Lord that you are faithful! Luke 12:22-32 Message Translation "He continued this subject with his disciples. "Don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes or if the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your inner life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the ravens, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, carefree in the care of God. And you count far more. "Has anyone by fussing before the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? If fussing can't even do that, why fuss at all? Walk into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They don't fuss with their appearance—but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them. If God gives such attention to the wildflowers, most of them never even seen, don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? "What I'm trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don't be afraid of missing out. You're my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself. God wants to meet your needs and He doesn't want you to worry and fuss about them! Don't get caught up in the day to day "crud" (don't talk about it, gossip about it, think about it or even give time to it) Just let Him meet your needs! I think this goes so much with one of the things that Pastor Steve Munds shared last night - all those people in faith (listed in Hebrews) they fought their battles of faith and didn't see God pouring out like He is now. They didn't get to walk as we've walked - so be thankful to Him even in the middle of the piles of "poop" because He is faithful to do what He's promised to do (and if you're not sure what He's promised to do, just look in the Word at what He's done for others or read someones testimony - God's doesn't care who you are, you are His and He'll do it for you! Even if you don't feel like you deserve it, He loves you and thinks you deserve His best!) So don't forget friends.... GOD IS FAITHFUL!! He makes a way where there seems to be no way! By the way - I just have to say, I'm SO GLAD He's my Father - He's perfect, all I could ever ask for and more and I'm so glad! | | |
| okay... I started reading this very interesting book - which is actually quite cool for people who are used to reading xanga, myspace or whatever updates each day (web log entries). This book is supposed to be "God's Blog" - if He had one. But basically it's just God's thoughts from different days (as interpreted by the author)... and I found a really cool one today that I just had to share.
"I want to blog today about questions that almost all of you ask, I see them in your minds and I hear them in your prayers and I watch as you search in hundreds of ways for the answers.
What am I here for? What is my purpose in life? Who am I?
It's good to ask those questions. There are actually a few good answers that relate to all of you. If you've ready My Book, you know that you guys... all of you...were created in My image.
Okay... that's hard to figure out if you realize that I AM not physical. I AM bigger that the universe. I'M everywhere at once, and I know, see, and hear everything. None of you are like that at all. So let me give you a hint about what that "image" phrase really suugests.
Image is... a representation, a reflection, an illustration, a likeness. I'll go with representation and reflection on this one.
I created you to "represent" Me to one another. To be a reflection of Me. I have more attributes that you can name, but let's start with....
love, respect, acceptance, warmth, light, grace, laughter, truth, fun, sensitivity, consideration, trust, giver, forgiver, excitement, unique, adventure, wonder
Words that describe part of Me. The part you can reflect. You... a reflection of your Maker.
When the book says "in His image He created him" .... it's really saying more about why than how.
To reflect. That's WHY you were made. That is what fulfills. Those descriptions, shining from Me, bouncing off of you into the lives of others.
If it's happening, you're feeling okay today. Fulfilled. You're not asking the questions. If it's not, you may not be feeling so well. And you're probably asking the questions.
It may be time to dust off the mirror.
BTW... reflections happen best when you are standing near to that which you want to reflect. (That which you were made to reflect.)"
I thought it was a great "post" - so I thought I'd do the same... so what are you reflecting today? And are you close enough to Him to accurately reflect Him? Just a thought to ponder today....
